Who we are

Driver In Sri Lanka (“we”, “us”, “our”) is a family-run private driver and tour business based at 230 Berekka Junction, Uggalboda, Gampaha, Sri Lanka. We operate driverinsrilanka.xyz and are responsible for the personal information collected through it.

This policy explains what we collect when you use our site or contact us, why we collect it, who it is shared with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Enquiry forms. When you send an enquiry through our contact or tour request forms, we collect what you provide: your name, email address, WhatsApp or phone number, tour of interest, preferred travel dates, number of travelers, and any message you include. We do not ask for payment or passport details through these forms.

Messages and calls. If you message or call us on WhatsApp, email or phone, we see your number or address and the content of your messages, the same as in any conversation.

Technical information. Like most websites, our server automatically logs basic technical information, such as your browser type, device and IP address, for security and performance.

Analytics and advertising data. When analytics and advertising tools are active on this site, they collect information about your visit, such as the pages you view, the links you click, your device and browser, your approximate location, and how you arrived at our site. This is collected using cookies and similar technologies, as explained in the section on cookies, analytics and advertising below.

How we use your information

• To respond to your enquiry and plan your tour or transfer
• To contact you about your booking by email, phone or WhatsApp
• To send occasional travel updates, only if you agreed to this when submitting a form, and you can opt out at any time
• To understand how visitors use our site, so we can improve the site and our tours
• To measure and improve our advertising, and to show our ads to people who have visited our site, where you have agreed to this
• To keep a record of past enquiries so we can help you better if you contact us again
• To keep our website secure and working properly

We do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Cookies, analytics and advertising

Cookies are small files placed on your device when you visit a website. We and the services described below use cookies and similar technologies, such as tracking pixels, for the purposes explained here.

Necessary cookies. Some cookies are needed for the site to work properly and securely. These are always active.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, to understand how visitors use our site. It uses cookies and similar technologies to collect information such as the pages you visit, how long you stay, your device and browser type, your approximate location and how you found us. Meta Pixel. We use the Meta Pixel, a tool provided by Meta (Facebook and Instagram), to measure how well our advertising works and to show our ads to people who may be interested in them. When active, the Pixel can send Meta information about your visit, such as the pages you view, the actions you take and your device and browser details, which Meta may match to your Facebook or Instagram account. Meta handles this information under its own privacy policy. You can manage the ads you see in your Facebook ad preferences.

Your choices. Where the law requires it, we ask for your consent before analytics and advertising cookies are used, and you can change or withdraw your choice at any time through our cookie settings. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking some cookies may affect how parts of the site work.

Who we share it with

We use a small number of services to run the site, understand its use and talk to you. They may process data under their own privacy policies:

• Google (Google Analytics) for website analytics
• Meta (Meta Pixel) for advertising measurement and ad delivery
• WhatsApp (Meta) for direct messaging, when you choose to message us
• Our email delivery service, which sends the emails generated by our forms
• Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and the enquiries sent through it
• Google Fonts, which supplies the typefaces used on our pages
• Google Maps, to show our location on the Contact page
• Tripadvisor, for the award badges and review links, which load from and link to Tripadvisor

Our social media links take you to those platforms, which have their own policies. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

International visitors

Our team is based in Sri Lanka, and the services above, including Google and Meta, may handle data in other countries. When you contact us or use our site, you understand that your information will be handled in Sri Lanka and by those providers for the purposes described here.

How long we keep your information

We keep enquiry and booking records for as long as needed to provide our services and to meet reasonable business and accounting needs, after which we delete or anonymize them. Analytics and advertising data is kept for the periods set in those tools and by their providers, under their policies.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to tell you what information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it. You can also object to how we use it, including for analytics and advertising, and withdraw your consent to analytics, advertising cookies or travel updates at any time. Depending on where you live, data protection law may give you additional rights, including the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Security

We take reasonable technical and organizational steps to protect your information, including secure (HTTPS) connections and restricted access to enquiry records. No method of sending information over the internet is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children

Our services are for adults planning travel. We do not knowingly collect information about children, other than details you choose to share, such as their ages, to help us plan your trip.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time, for example when we add or change the tools we use. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
