Our story
A guide who went independent
Rohan Ambrose Leonard Fernando (R.A.L. Fernando) began working in Sri Lankan tourism in 2000 and spent more than 12 years as a tour guide for some of Sri Lanka’s leading tour agencies. More than a decade ago he started Driver In Sri Lanka, a small, family-run tour business built on one belief: travelers should be able to reach experienced, licensed drivers directly, with no middlemen.
The goal has stayed the same ever since: tours that are safe, memorable and affordable.

Before you book
Is the vehicle private, or shared with other travelers?
Every tour is fully private. You get your own air-conditioned vehicle and a dedicated English-speaking chauffeur guide for the entire trip.
Can the itinerary be customized?
Yes. Every itinerary is a starting point. Tell us your interests, pace and time available, and we adjust the route, hotels and pacing.
Is airport pick-up and drop-off included?
Yes, airport pick-up and drop-off are included as part of your tour.
How far in advance should I book?
As early as you can once your dates are set, especially in peak season (December to March and July to August).
Is it a good option for families with young children?
Yes. A private vehicle and flexible pacing work especially well for families.
